Proposed District One Website Guidelines

 

Purpose:

            To carry the message of Alcoholics Anonymous by providing a resource on the Internet where visitors and alcoholics can get information about the activities and business of District One, Area 70, and of AA in general.

The web site should include the following:

• How It Works
• Twelve Steps
• Twelve Traditions
• Twelve Concepts
• The Promises
• Preamble
• Serenity Prayer
• “I am responsible”
• Links to GSO and the Grapevine (Any other links to outside sites are provided solely as a convenience for the user and do not imply affiliation or a relationship to the outside sites. (Caution is to be used in adding outside links)
• A link to the area 70 site for the purpose of using the state map for meetings outside our district.
• The District will be responsible for paying for the site. (  no advertising)
• Anonymous email to Webservant and committee members ( 11^th    tradition)
• No pictures of AA’s or personal phone numbers. No last names in unsecured areas.
• A secured area for minutes from Area and District. (password protected)
• District One Guidelines
• Link to state convention flyers, literature order forms, Grapevine order forms and event flyers.
• Declaration of unity.
• Disclaimer stating that this website is not endorsed nor approved by AAWS

 

The Website committee shall (attempt to) consist of:

Two additional at large members.

 

    The website committee is responsible for:

• Updating content in a timely matter
• Recommending and adding content
• Maintaining the website
• Monitoring the website
